Proteus Discovery Group Eliminates User Fees for RelativityOne

Litigator-led firm continues its push for simplified pricing in eDiscovery.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, October 10, 2022 / PRweb – Proteus Discovery Group, eliminated user fees for data hosted in its RelativityOne environment.

""Transparency was one of our primary motivations for founding Proteus. As practicing litigators, we were constantly frustrated by having to decipher complex and nebulous line items on monthly invoices," said Hamish Cohen, Proteus co-founder and general counsel. "Now, with the elimination of user fees, we continue our commitment to transparency."

Proteus has focused on providing sophisticated services at a simple price structure since its 2015 founding, eschewing separate fees for processing, productions, and analytics.

he elimination of user fees creates multiple advantages for clients, including:

  • Increased collaboration: new users can be added to workspaces without incurring additional costs.
  • Case economics: traditionally, user fees comprised a significant portion of the total cost for large cases with dozens or hundreds of users and for cases with a small data footprint.
  • Use cases: eliminating user fees creates a better business case for leveraging Relativity's analytics and review capabilities on applications outside of traditional discovery during litigation and investigations, including compliance, contract analytics, breach analysis, and more.
  • Enhanced features: Relativity's Legal Hold is now included in the base price.

In August, Relativity announced that it will bundle user fees into a single RelativityOne data fee. The subscription plan will eliminate separate user fees, making it easier for customers to meet evolving client needs and simplify their internal operations. Many organizations that have adopted RelativityOne are tackling more use cases and practice areas across their organizations, such as cyber breach response, data subject access requests, third-party subpoenas and internal investigations.

"RelativityOne has been our fastest growing product since we began our cloud journey in 2017, and this year I'm proud to share that we've achieved another major milestone, with more than half our customers now in the cloud," said Mike Gamson CEO at Relativity in the press release announcement. "Based on strong adoption and valuable customer feedback, it's clear that the time has come to unlock new opportunities for engagement and access in RelativityOne. We're really excited about this change and the role it will play in supporting customer innovation and facilitating a greater breadth of use cases."

Proteus's client services team will be at RelativityFest in Chicago from October 26-28.
